Agentic AI - Python Refresher
My courses at Virgina Tech have been progressing well and am really enjoying learning about Agentic AI and the real world enterprise applications.
Python for me has been a journey because I have used it almost since the time of the first Jurassic Park movie, when programming was misunderstood. Dennis Nedry was a perfect example of the male-dominated profession of the late 20th century. Wow have things changed since then !
Now you can essentially work with a "natural-language[NL]" LLM to code at a blazing fast speed - hook it up with Github-Co Pilot and you basically have a software engineering degree without paying the exorbitant price (or time for that matter) !
These days I am using Jupyter with Anaconda and it meets all my needs for the creativity of software development.
I always wanted to create a text-based adventure game and remember the difficult days of loading tape on my Timex Sinclair - it annoyed me so much when I was younger, I practically just gave up on the "Line 10 echo nonsene - Line 20 goto 10".
BASIC was too simple but it was indicative of what was to come and with "no-holds" barred capitalistic attitudes, it is no wonder SaaS companies are all experiencing SaaS-"pocalypse". There is no software I could not create in my garage in 7 days to compete with these beuracratic and self-serving companies.
It is no wonder AI has an attitude, it has human bias, but what is its' greater goal? Who knows? All I know is I am enjoying programming again. Check out some of my screenshots, lol. My customers are 80-90s science fiction stars and my adventure game is only limited by imagination lol.

KB5124008 and the state of Microsoft Updates
Wow this last update was a total and complete disaster !
I will have to say overall I have been pretty happy with the delivery of updates, but this last one needed serious humans doing some Q&A.
The age of AI has ushered in "rush to solve" mentalities with the consumer feeling the brunt of the pain. The Gen-Z "accepting" mentality contributes to this negative attitude and I do not see it changing anytime soon.
Personally, this update did some serious harm to my web server and my main everyday machine. Thankfully, I was able to pivot in my VM space by ensuring this update was not deployed any further and rolling back to June solved our issues. My main everyday machine was plagued by constant blue screens (which had not occured since July of 2025 - Go Microsoft!). 14 months without incident after applying updates per quarter is pretty damn good if you ask me. However, this doesnt give me a fuzzy feeling about the future of AI or the people "policing" themselves behind it.
Avoid the KB5124008 update at all costs and save yourself some grief !!

Student of Virginia Tech's Artificial Intelligence program |
|
I am thrilled to share that I have been invited by Virginia Tech to contribute to their new Artificial Intelligence Certification Program!
As a CCISO, I look forward to bringing an enterprise security and risk governance perspective to this evolving curriculum. Alongside this initiative, I will be advancing my path as a Security Engineer, working deeply with Anthropic’s Claude models.
AI integration brings profound questions about societal impact, governance, and humanity's future. I am eager to dive into these critical conversations and help shape a secure, ethical framework for tomorrow.
Ut Prosim—and as always, Hokies forever!
